A Diluted Process
In the ever-changing realm of the Internet, time and the wealth of information absolutely mandate that you must use the help of a search engine to be able to scour and scrape in order to find what you are looking for. Search Engines, as we know them today have historically evolved through major fundamental transformations. Furthermore, good SEO practices have been re-classified by the corporate search giants as industry double standards for all of us meaning, “What is OK for them to do, is not OK for you to do“. This mind numbing cycle has played out over and over, year after year for so long that now that there is just one big gray area that encompasses most the SEO business genre. So much in fact that the SEO industry itself has become so diluted by a deluge of skill-less foreign entities that most people have started to view SEO guys as a summation of everything rotten and wrong with the Internet. We have taken on the identity of the most distrusted profession ever concocted, the used car salesmen (no offense to the car sales professionals everywhere).
The Other Guys
Most people in the SEO business have become so disillusioned by the whole stupefied law of unintended consequences that they have decided to just give up and sell their clients “Pay per Click” advertising thus walking away from their job leaving their clients in the muck. The whole process has become a “One Size – Fits All” attitude, which has left a gigantic gaping hole in the SEO industry. Very few so-called SEO companies it seems want to do the job they claim expertise in and exhibit more of a mindless “Google Adwords Vending Machine” attitude and business model.
Consumers must be very careful when selecting a SEO guy to get their web noticed. I don’t know why there are so many people that fall for a sharply dressed million dollar smile but there are! The problem for me to understand is if those customers were out shopping for a car, they would be a little more skeptical of the deal pushed across the desk (again, no offense to the car salesmen out there) it’s just a fact.
If I wanted to impress people with my wardrobe and my useless college degree I suppose I could do better with my presentation but my portfolio speaks for itself and that’s all you as a consumer should really care about in this industry. All I can say is, “If there is business to be had in the business that you are in – I will make your phone ring if and when I turn my attention to your website”, that’s a fact that my so called competitors never want to you to consider.
